The Future Of Home Internet- Ftth Technology

I believe the success of every company is the ability to adjust, adapt and most importantly forecast change – change in business trends, where and what is the next big thing or sometimes, creating a very different market and making a living off it. Also, it can just simply be by branching into other opportunities that have been there before and thriving.

In 2010, Margaret Rouse in her article in SearchNetworking.TechTarget.Com, defined Fiber to the home (FTTH) as “…also called “fiber to the premises” (FTTP), is the installation and use of optical fiber from a central point directly to individual buildings such as residences, apartment buildings and businesses to provide unprecedented high-speed Internet access. FTTH dramatically increases the connection speeds available to computer users compared with technologies now used in most places.” This is an astute definition and explains what FTTH is all about.

FTTH has plenty of advantages for both the end users and the service. FTTH promises connection speeds of up to 1Gabits per second — 100 to 200 times as fast as a typical cable modem or DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) connection. It also provides the end users dedicated internet directly from our Data Center. FTTH also makes deployment and distribution of fiber internet easy within a particular area, thereby increasing the reach of the company, self-ad for bigger opportunities and increase in revenue.

This technology gives Estate Developers and stakeholders an added advantage in providing borderline housing and living management that is Smart and State of the Art. This is also an added revenue to the service charges they render their occupants.

What FTTH does is to pave the way for the “Smart Estate/House” technology that is taking over the world right now. It also paves the way for end users in this part of the world to start acclimatizing this “Smart House” technology.

Layer3 is at the forefront of providing a 24/7 Cloud services/infrastructure, and home users on the FTTH technology from Layer3 can leverage on this service to always have access to their data and other resources even while at home.
